Trolley Ride with Mommy!

Song and Dance

"Choo-choo!" Train ride teaser in preparation for our big upcoming Thanksgiving adventure!

"Straw-bee" ice cream break at the Creamery.

Best seat in the house- watching the fireworks display from Daddy's shoulders.

Tonight, we skipped right over Turkey Day and joined in the holiday festivities as we took part of the Downtown Concord Christmas Tree Lighting. The event started at six and we made sure that we got in line for the free trolley rides, first. We took a nice (warm!) ride around downtown while sipping our hot apple cider.

Next, we walked down Market Street where there were bouncy houses and face painting for the kiddies. Katy and I rode the kiddie train, too. There was a stage set up where local area children's choirs were singing Christmas-y songs. Katy was quite fascinated with the singing and when we asked her if she wanted to do that next year, she replied, "Yes- singing!"

We took a little break from the chilly elements to duck into the Cabarrus Creamery for some ice cream (hee, hee!).

By the time we had finished our ice cream, it was time for the Christmas tree lights to be turned on. Directly following the Christmas tree lighting, there was a fireworks display which Katy thoroughly enjoyed and was not scared in the least.

We had a fun time making memories as a family and getting into the Christmas spirit, tonight
!
