Gangnam Style
"Oppa is Gangnam style, Gangnam style..."
"...Oppa is Gangnam style, Gangnam style..."
"...Eh- Sexy Lady, Oppa is Gangnam style..."
"...Eh- Sexy Lady oh oh oh oh..."
"...Oppa is Gangnam style..."
*While we were at the baseball game, last Friday, the song, 'Gangman Style' came on. Immediately, Katy started dancing and grooving. I don't think she's even heard the song, before. Yet, as soon as the song started, she was moving and grooving like PSY and the best of them. Ha!

Where's the Beef?
You know that your daughter is a carnivore when she dances around the house, in her dress-up clothes, singing, "Kill the Beef!" When I asked Katy why she was singing this, she replied, "That's what the men say in the movie. You know- the one with Belle."
OHHH!! You mean, "Kill the Beast!" from Disney's Beauty and the Beast.
Is it wrong that I laughed?!

Sentence of the Day- "Rock-a-bye Baby..."
Ever since we got home from Thanksgiving, Katy has been sick. Cough, cold, you know the drill. Anyway, this morning, in an effort to soothe her, I was rocking her and singing "Rock-a-bye Baby" to her. In the midst of her tears and general all-around-not-feeling-well funk, Katy sat up, looked me in the eye and exclaimed, "I not a baby! I your big kid!"
So, now, our version of the song goes like this, "Rock a bye big kid... on the treetop..."

Sentence of the Day- Lullaby
It was Ted's turn to put Katy to bed, tonight and here's a snippet of their bedtime conversation:
Katy, in a sleepy-but-fighting-it voice, "Daddy sing me Lullaby."
Ted starts to sing "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star...."
Katy interrupts, "No, Daddy- the other lullaby."
Slightly confused, Ted starts singing another song.
Katy interrupts, "No Daddy! Do you not know the words?!"
Stifling a laugh, Ted says, "No, I guess not, Katy. Why don't you sing me the lullaby and teach it to me?"
Katy starts singing the "La-La-Lullaby" song from Jim Henson's Pajanimals...
OH! That Lullaby! Silly Daddy!

Gin Blossoms- Hey Jealousy
"Tell me do you think it'd be all right..."
"If I could just crash here tonight..."
Katy didn't let a really bad cover of Gin Blossoms' "Hey Jealousy" at the Time Warner Cable BBQ and Blues Festival get in the way of her groove!

Sentence of the Day- Little Songbird
Katy loves to sing! She has always loved music and since she was very little, she has be-bopped her way through songs in the car, in the house, in the store- wherever she can!! Now, that she has an extensive vocabulary and has a good grasp at sentence structure, she loves to not only sing along to songs using the correct lyrics, but often, I hear her making up her own lyrics to familiar tunes. Case in point, this morning, Katy had just gotten off the toilet and was running into the play room (free as a jay-bird, I might add) and I hear her singing (on the top of her lungs at 7AM, of course!);
"Oh happy day! Oh happy day! I got a naked tushie. I got a naked tushie" (to the tune of "Oh Happy Day")
I kid you not. I could not make these things up if I tried!! HAHAHA!

Sentence of the Day- Song and Dance
Currently, one of Katy's favorite song's is "Father Abraham." You know the one- the one that you learned in Sunday School where you sing and progressively start swinging your arms and legs and twirling (and generally making a fool of yourself). Anywho, after singing and dancing for a good several rounds, Katy stopped me mid-song and informed me, "Abraham big car." Confused, I asked her, "How do you know that Abraham had a big car?" Katy replied, "Lots of sons!" Well, I guess I can't fault her for logic like that!!
