Phee Swim Week 2018- Featuring patterns from Cole's Corner and Creations and Treasurie
Summertime, here we come!! Missy is all set to hit the pool in her new swimwear using Phee Fabrics Heathered Hot Pink Circular Knit and Leopard Print nylon spandex!
The fabrics from Phee Fabrics were PERFECT for sewing up a Cole's Corner and Creations Bow-a-licious bathing suit and Treasurie Kimono (cover-up). I love the fun bow feature of the Cole's Corner and Creations Bow-a-licious bathing suit! Now, technically, the Treasurie Kimono is meant for wovens but it translated perfectly using the Phee Fabrics Leopard Print nylon spandex (no mods, or, sizing up is necessary).
The Phee Fabrics Heathered Hot Pink Circular Knit and Leopard Print nylon spandex fabrics were easy to work with and both are antimicrobial and moisture-wicking (aka- exactly what you need in swimwear). The fabrics are soft and cool to the touch. The Phee Fabrics Heathered Hot Pink Circular Knit and Leopard Print nylon spandex wash up perfectly, as well! We've already worn- and washed- this suit and cover-up a couple times and they STILL look just as bright and vibrant as the day we took these pictures!

Sewing Pattern Testing- Cole's Corner and Creations- Surfside Tankini- Dolly and Me
Hello, Summer!! We are ready for you!! After our first full year of Kindergarten, our Lil' Miss is ready for summer break! Summer camps, ballet recitals and fun in the sun.... especially pool time!!
Once again, I wanted to sew up a bathing suit for Lil' Miss (and her doll- and fourth family member- Samantha ;-). So, when Cole's Corner and Creations put out a tester call to test their newest bathing suit, the Surfside Tankini and matching dolly bathing suit, I dove right in (pun intended- hahahaha!).
The Cole's Corner and Creations Surfside Tankini is a modest two piece tankini featuring a halter style top and boy shorts bottom.Top front and boy shorts are lined for extra coverage.
First, some pattern details for the Cole's Corner and Creations Surfside Tankini;
-The Cole's Corner and Creations Surfside Tankini is sized for 1/2-16.
-The Cole's Corner and Creations Surfside Tankini PDF sewing pattern features layered, trimless pattern pieces. That means that you only print the size that you need/want AND there is less cutting involved- win!
-The Cole's Corner and Creations Surfside Tankini PDF sewing pattern includes the following- a size chart, fabric requirements chart, and elastic cutting chart.
-The Cole's Corner and Creations Surfside Tankini features step-by-step photographs and written instructions for each step.
-The Cole's Corner and Creations Surfside Tankini PDF sewing pattern also includes pattern pieces and/or instructions for optional bows and flower.I sewed up a straight size six for Lil' Miss. She was dying for a "neck tie" bathing suit (ie halter style), so I left the straps free to tie into a bow behind the neck (instructions in the tutorial also include options for crossed, straight, and/or permanent strap placement).

Sewing Pattern Testing- Cole's Corner and Creations- Celebration Dress
Cole's Corner and Creations- Celebration Dolly Dress
Cole's Corner and Creations- Celebration Dolly Dress- Flower Girl Style
I had the opportunity to test a new dolly sewing pattern for Cole's Corner and Creations. Introducing, the Celebration Dolly Dress!! This puff-sleeve, fancy dress is the perfect special occasion ensemble for all of dolly's dressier events. This includes dolly's First Holy Communion, Baptism and Flower Girl! Lots of fun!
The Celebration Dolly Dress pdf sewing pattern is written for 15" and 18" dolls. I sewed up the 18" doll. Pattern pieces are for the bodice and sleeves, only, and there is a cutting chart for the skirt and armbands.
This is a quick sew with lots of bang for your buck. One dress takes less than 1/2 a yard of fabric (minus trims and any other additional details).
The first dress that I sewed up was the white, First Holy Communion Dress. I added lace trim to the bottom hem and a small lace overlay to the bodice. I used pre-made bias for the armbands and added a small white ribbon bow to the bodice.

The second dress that I sewed up was the pink Flower Girl dress. Lil' Miss was a flower girl for my cousin's wedding, last spring So, she was really excited to have a fancy flower girl dress for her doll, Samantha, too! I added lace trim to the bottom hem, a lace overlay at the bodice and a tulle overlay skirt.

Sewing Pattern Testing- Cole's Corner and Creations-Victory Cheer Uniform
"V-I-C-T-O-R-Y spells VICTORY!"
Football season is HERE!! We're not super huge football fans in the Jones household, but Lil' Miss sure does love the "idea" of cheerleaders. (cute outfit, pom-poms, super flexibility- right up her alley!) So, when I was asked to test the newest PDF sewing pattern, Victory Cheer Uniform by Cole's Corner and Creations, I leaped at the chance (get it, get it...?! ;-)
Let's talk PDF sewing pattern basics, first;
-The Victory Cheer Uniform is a two piece cheer uniform. It features a top and a separate skirt.
-The Victory Cheer Uniform is meant to be sewn using 100% polyester ponte knit fabric.
-The Victory Cheer Uniform features two sleeve lengths- sleeveless and long sleeves.
-The Victory Cheer Uniform features several skirt options- traditional shorter cheer skirt, longer skirt and instructions on how to do an optional side slit.
-The Victory Cheer Uniform also includes pattern pieces and instructions on how to sew up some cute bloomers to wear underneath the uniform.
-The Victory Cheer Uniform also includes several suggestions for trim using cheer trim, striped knit fabric and layering ribbons of different widths.
-The Victory Cheer Uniform features trimless pattern pieces.
-The Victory Cheer Uniform PDF sewing pattern includes a glossary of terms, fabric requirements, sizing chart and elastic cutting chart.
I sewed up a size six, sleeveless, longer skirt with side slit Victory Cheer Uniform. I purchased the blue, white and black ponte fabric locally at Hancock Fabric. The cheer trim was purchased directly from Cole's Corner and Creations.
Lil' Miss' school mascot is the Panther. So, I decided to sew up a cheer uniform for her to wear on "School Spirit" days. A cheer uniform is way cuter than a shapeless t-shirt.... right... ?! ;-P
This was my first time sewing a cheer uniform, using ponte knit AND I did my first applique (paw print). Lots of firsts (and so much fun!)! At first I was hesitant to try my hand at applique. However, by just following the instructions included in the tutorial it was a breeze and I LOVE how it turned out!
Victory Cheer Uniform by Cole's Corner and Creations- APPLIQUE DETAIL
The Victory Cheer Uniform is close-fitting and uses minimal fabric. Ponte fabric isn't super stretchy, so, make sure you cut the fabric with the stretch going ACROSS the body. The trim design is totally up to you. So, my word to the wise would be, order more trim than you think you need (just in case!)!
Lil' Miss LOVES her new Victory Cheer Uniform!! It's perfect for jumping and cheering! She'll be the cutest, best-dress kindergartner at school spirit pep rallies- don't you think?!! And, as an added bonus, with the longer skirt length and wide shoulder straps, it ALSO conforms to school dress code! Winner!
Oh, and did I mention that there is a separate DOLLY Victory Cheer Uniform?!! How cute!! Dolly and Me matching cheerleaders!
Now, go, run, jump and leap forth and sew your little cheerleader (and dolly) the newest pattern by Cole's Corner and Creations- the Victory Cheer Uniform!! Sew much fun! Thank you, Nicole, for another fun, quality pattern!
"Go, Panthers!!"
