Carowinds
So, we decided to do something a little different, this summer... we decided to get get season passes to Carowinds! It only took us almost ten years of living in NC to finally visit the Carolina theme park!
We spent most of the day in Planet Snoopy and Lil' Miss had a blast!! We got to ride lots of rides and the lines were not as long as I had anticipated (being Memorial Day, and all). Katy is already talking about, "...the next time we go...!"

And, of course, SNOOPY!
I guess you can officially call us "Southern." Hehehe..!

Sentence of the Day- Shaun the Sheep
We're big Aardman Animation fans, here in the Jones household! So, when we found out that Shaun the Sheep was going to be appearing in his own feature-length film, we made an afternoon of it. Lil' Miss got all dressed up (oh, wait- that's EVERYday!) and even wanted to do her own hair.
When she walked out of the bathroom, she told me, "Look, Mom! I fluffed my hair! Now it's just like a sheep!" (Basically, she teased her hair- minus the hairspray.) Sheep.... the next big fashion trend...! It's B- EWE-tiful....! Ha!

Disney on Ice, Princesses and Heroes
"Look out Disney on Ice, Princesses and Heroes, here comes Katy!"
Cute and Sassy
Last week, we had the opportunity to go see Disney on Ice, Princesses and Heroes. We didn't tell Lil' Miss where, or what we were doing until we were literally in the car, en route. Instead, we decided to make the whole outing a surprise.
Boy, was she surprised!
First, we did a meet and greet with Snow White and Belle. Katy was SOOOOooo excited!
Then, after some nosh and some hugs from the princesses, we headed into the rink to enjoy the show. Our seats were nice and close and we had a fairly clear view. Of course, Lil' Miss insisted on some popcorn (we nixed the $12 cotton candy).
Overall, the skating was really good and the show was entertaining- even for the adults. Katy was mesmerized the whole time. Personally, I found it lots of fun to watch Katy's face/reactions to the show. To say that her emotions were written all over her face would be an understatement. She insisted that every time a princess waved in our general direction that she was waving just to her. Ha!
It was a late night (on a school night, no less!), but we had fun on our special Disney on Ice outing!
**UPDATE 10/12/14**
Thanks to Phase3, our lovely hosts for our fun evening of Disney on Ice, Princesses and Heroes, we got some pictures of Lil' Miss posing with the princesses. THANK YOU!! :-)
Katy was excited to meet Belle!
Katy was equally enchanted to meet Snow White!

Outdoor Movie
"Last night, Mommy, Daddy and I saw a movie.... OUTSIDE!
Afton Village was showing The Lorax out on the lawn."
"I got to sit in my Dora chair from Nana and PopPop."
"While I was waiting for the movie to start, I decided to fit in a little exercise. Every step counts! ;-P"
"Mommy even brought along some yummy snacks for us to munch on during the show. Daddy and I liked the popcorn the best!"
"Here I am grooving along to the pre-show music.
I was a good girl and stayed still (and quiet!) throughout the whole movie. Mommy and Daddy thought it was because I enjoyed the movie. Secretly, though, I was just excited to be staying up past my bedtime...."
