Dripping With A Southern Accent
Ted and I definitely consider ourselves to be Yankees (hailing from New Jersey and Pennsylvania, respectively), so we were not expecting a SOUTHERN drawl to come out of our Lil' Miss! Recently, we've noticed Katy adding extra syllables to words and drawing out her vowels. It's kind of hard to capture in words, but here are some words we've noticed:
"Crowwwn" for "Crown"
"Nahhhw" for "Now"
"Wahhhlk" for "Walk"
"Frieeenddds" for "Friends"
The only explanation we can come up with is that Katy is exposed to a lot more "speaking" in Preschool and her teacher, Ms. Kris, is a bit of a Southern gal, herself. It's so funny to hear a Southern drawl come out of Katy. I've been referred to as "Italian Korean" by my Mom's side of the family, so I guess Lil' Miss will now be our "Southern Korean!"
