Teacher Appreciation Week 2014
May 5-9, 2014, is "Teacher Appreciation" week!
Coming from a long line of teachers (both sides), Lil' Miss will be wholeheartedly showing her appreciation, all week long! She's only in Preschool (never too early to start!), so she'll be showering her teachers with little gifts on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Monday- "We Need S'more Teachers Like You!" printable by Glue Sticks and Tape (Packaged up graham crackers, chocolate bars and marshmallows).
Wednesday- "Shooting for Brownie Points." printable by The Gaines Gang (Chewy Nutella Brownies by Finding Silver Linings- decadent and yummy!! Since Wednesday is Lunch Bunch day, we'll be sharing the love and distributing these ooey, gooey goodies to all five of the school's teachers.)
Friday- "If teachers were APPLES, I'd pick you!" printable by Lil' Luna (Gala Apples- Lil' Miss insisted they be red ;-) and caramel dipping sauce).
Thank you, Ms. Kelly and Ms. Gwyn! Lil' Miss has had a wonderful year and a large part of that is due to the love, care and guidance that she has been shown in your classroom! Thank you!

First Time at the Bowling Alley
Our family friends' little girl (well, not so little anymore- she's SEVEN- and I remember visiting her in the hospital on the day that she was born!!), recently had her birthday party at the bowling alley.
This was Lil' Miss' first experience lacing up the fancy clown shoes and striking some pins down. At first, she was a little hesitant and wanted Ted to help her every single turn.
However, by the end, she was bowling like a pro and having a blast!
Look at that awesome score!! She's a better bowler than I will ever be! She even managed to get a couple of strikes between the two games that she played!
As a side note, bowling alleys have come a long way from the dark, dingy, smokey caves I remember for years of ol'. The bowling alley that Cecilia's birthday party was held at had brightly lit lanes, touch-screen scoreboards and these really cool ramps that helped little ones (and big ones, too!), get the ball down the lane! Fun!!
(Happy Birthday, Cecilia!! So glad we could help you celebrate your special day! :-0)

Easter 2014 in NJ
"We spent Easter in NJ, this year!"
"We went to church with Nanny and Poppy. I even got to wear my pretty dress that they gave me for my birthday, back in February."
"Family Picture Time!"
"After church, Nanny and Poppy had an Easter Egg Hunt just for me!"
"There were lots of eggs to find!"
"On the Monday after Easter, Nanny and Poppy took me to the Philadelphia Please Touch Museum. It was so much fun! There was so much to see and do! We stayed for about five hours.
The adults were all taking bets about when I'd fall asleep, in the car, on the way home from the museum. They were all wrong- I stayed awake and NANNY fell asleep!
Lots of fun, all around!"

One Katy-sized Bubble, Coming Right Up!
I have had a day..... a long day (and night).....
I have already been to Urgent Care, this morning, and called Katy's pediatrician more times than I care to admit. We've been through a pulled elbow (or, as the Urgent Care doctor called it, "nursemaids elbow") and a cartwheel-like-trapeze-swinging tumble from our friends' sky-high clubhouse landing. If I hadn't just been through the whole elbow/Urgent Care thing, this morning, I don't think I would have reacted so hysterically when Katy fell off the clubhouse ladder.
Suffice it to say that I screamed.... Loudly....!
This all occurred before two pm, mind you....
Katy's okay, though. Tough little kid. My nerves, on the other hand....
Sterile, plastic bubble, please! No more falls, breaks, sprains or dislocations. No more scary moments when your heart literally stops and jumps out of your chest.
No ma'am. I am done for the day.

The Muppet Effect
Katy and I were recently jamming out to tunes on the radio when the 80's classic, "We Built This City" started playing. Immediately, Katy exclaimed, "The Muppets!" ("We Built This City" was featured when the whole Muppet gang is cleaning up the old studio in "The Muppets Movie"). She then proceeds to sing right along (knowing more words than I do, to the song). Like her father, pop culture references somehow always relate back to the Muppets (and not the ACTUAL, true point of reference).
So her Daddy's daughter.... (and fellow Muppet lover, too!)!!
