The Three Little Bears
Conversation between Katy and I, tonight;
Katy, "I'm going to call you 'Mommy Bear.' Okay?"
Me, "Okay. Does that make you, 'Katy Bear,' then?"
Katy, "Yep! And that makes Daddy, 'Teddy Bear.' Oh, Teddy Bear! Where are you?!"
I love how that little mind works and puts together associations!
Just call us the Three Little Bears ;-P

Muffin Tin Monday- Steak 'Um
Carrot Sticks, Green Grapes, Chocolate Covered Pretzels, Veggie Sticks, Steak with BBQ Sauce
This lunch is fit for a queen... Queen Katy, that is! Our little carnivore LOVES steak and she LOVES chocolate. Of course, Mommy added the other items to round out the meal... at least I can feel good about packing her a balanced meal... even if she doesn't eat it all. :-)

"How Much Do You Love Me?"
Katy and I have this little game where I ask her, "How much does Mommy love you?" Usually, she'll open her arms up really wide and say, "Alot!" or "This much!"
Today, we were playing this game, but I decided to follow up by asking, "If Mommy loves Katy ALOT, how much does Katy love Mommy?"
Katy put her pointer and thumb together in a tiny pinching motion and said, "A little."
I faked a sad face and asked, "What? You only love me a little?"
Katy replied, "Yep. I love you little because I AM little!" She then proceeds to give me a million kisses.
Well, I guess you can't argue with reasoning like that.

Counting
Never underestimate a preschooler!
Katy has many strengths- an extensive vocabulary, great sense of color and color wheel knowledge (really!), wonderful fine motor skills- but just like her Daddy and I, I wouldn't consider numbers and counting as part of her strong suit. Today, she proved me wrong!
We were eating lunch and Katy wanted to skip over her meal and go straight to dessert. Now that she is three years old, we tell her that she needs to, "eat three big girl bites" before she can have XYZ. So, I told her to eat three bites and then she could have her sweet treat. She was eating her bites willingly, so I thought I'd try to sneak in another, extra bite. She took the extra bite and after chewing and swallowing she said, "That was FOUR! Now may I have it (dessert)?!"
No pulling a fast one of this little girlie!

Sentence of the Day- Naked Baby
While walking around the mall, we passed the Hanes Brands store. Of course the front windows were full of mannequins dressed in only their unmentionables. Katy saw this and exclaimed, "Mommy! Those people (aka mannequins) are all naked babies! I see their undies!"

Nuby Mommy Blogger- Flip-it™ Top Gator Grip™
Our new box of Nuby Mommy Blogger goodies arrived, yesterday. Of course, Lil' Miss wanted to try out one of the products right away. She chose the Nuby Flip-it™ Top Gator Grip™ to start out with. So, we filled it up with water and gave it a go.
Here is what Nuby's website says about Nuby Flip-it™ Top Gator Grip™, "No matter what recreational activity your child is engaged in, the Flip-it™ Top Gator Grip™ is perfect for parents and children on the go! Why? Because Nûby™ developed the Top Gator Grip™ with an innovative, ergonomic shape with easy grips that ensures a comfortable and secure grasp for your child. The straw comfortably snaps towards the Gator Grip ear when not in use."
Here are our thoughts on the Nuby Flip-it™ Top Gator Grip™;
-We love the "gator grip" on the sides of the water bottle. This allows for some traction and is easy for Katy to hold and not drop the cup.
-LOVE the name tag that attaches to the side of the cup! This is perfect for labeling the cup so it doesn't get lost at preschool/Sunday school/etc.
-15oz. size is just right for my very active three-year old.
-The hook at the top of the bottle is nice for attaching to Katy's stroller when we take a walk or to attach to her bookbag for school.
-The straw that "comfortably snaps towards the Gator Grip ear when not in use" is kind of difficult for Lil' Miss to operate. It is also difficult to pull out of the Gator Grip ear when she wants to take a sip, so I have to help her with it. The movement is jerky and the straw tends to "stick."
Overall, though, we like this cup. It's not too babyish and it is easy to take along with us to school, to the park, whenever we are on the go!
